If you are looking for a quick and easy DIY holiday dessert gift, these gluten free candied nuts will do the trick.
The nuts are delicious and take about 20 minutes to make, maybe 3 minutes of that hands on time. All you need is a 2 cup mason jar and some beautiful wired ribbon (I found mine at Michael’s) and you’re on your way.
1 mason jar
1 holiday ribbon
fill jar with: Spiced Pecans, Candied Pecans, Vanilla Roasted Walnuts, Smoked Paprika Almonds, Trail Mix, Cinnamon Pecan Brittle or Candied Macadamia Nuts
This year I will be giving out these cute little jars of candied nuts along with my gluten free cookbook (The Gluten-Free Almond Flour Cookbook) when we attend holiday parties.
With Thanksgiving approaching this Thursday, the holiday hectic-ness seems to have set in today. Quite a lot going on, all of it good.
If you haven’t seen my “Why Almond Flour?” page, be sure to check that out. You might also want to take a look at Gluten Free Girl’s new recipe for Dinner Rolls using almond flour. She has a lovely post on that.

I am so trying this this year! I usually make pickle onions being British and all but no more malt vinegar for me. Thanks for this idea

Thank you Elana for the elegant gift idea. As a guy, I don’t normally consider things like this for gifts. But I have to say that it’s so simple and natural, and really tells the recipient that you care enough about them to spend the time to make it.
Happy Holidays!

Jeff, if a guy in my life showed up with a jar of homemade candied nuts for me, I would never forget it. Seriously.

Hi Elana!
I hope your Thanksgiving went well! Have you ever tried soaking your nuts (pecans, macadamias, whatever) before making them into candied nuts? Any tips are appreciated, since I prefer my nuts soaked – like in your granola!
