    Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone else that has purchased from Honeyville notice black, brown specks of differing sizes and shapes in their flour? My suspicions tell me it is probably roasted, leftover almond skins. But my investigative side is hoping that it is not something else!
I know the almonds are blanched and supposedly there are no skins that should be present...so I am a little worried and have e-mailed the company and Elana.

I just wanted to see if anyone else had noticed something similar?

    Thanks! =)

I have noticed them also, and I truly believe (or maybe I want to believe) that it is pieces of almonds with skins still on. In fact, the reverse side of these specks seems to be pieces of almonds. I usually sift the flour before using it, so I have found several of them.

I have not tried Honeyville Almond Flour as of yet but I did just get a bag of blanched almond flour from nutsonline.com I did not see any black specks in that and it works great.
