    I experience an allergic reaction to the agave! It's been over a week now, and still bumps all over the face. What's a good substitute?

    You can try maple syrup, or coconut syrup (from raw coconut tree sap) works really well too--both work 1:1 with agave for Elana's recipes, in my experience.

    honey! i'm allergic to agave and i always sub equal amounts of honey (the lighter/clearer the honey, the more mild the taste. darker = stronger)
