    Hey everyone!

Unfortunately I cannot order Elana's almond flours online as these sites only ship to America and Canada ... does anyone know a good German website to order almond flour from ??

I got blanched almond flour from "www.shop.konzelmanns.de" but as my chocolate chip cookies turned out all flat and crumbly and not very nice, I suspect it might be the almond flour that's causing the problem!

thanks in advance - I'd love to try more recipes! I am not allergic to gluten but I feel lots better when cutting it out of my food so being able to cook and bake with Elana's recipes would be awesome!

By the way, the chocolate coconut (flour) cake worked like a charm and everyone loved it!! :-)

You might check with some bakeries in your area to see if they have any suggestions. Do you ever make or eat marzipan? It is my favorite German treat, actually my favorite treat in the whole world!!

:-) Great idea!! I've only checked the availabilty online (as I couldn't find any in store) and almost all of the online suppliers had only massive quantities (20kilogramms) for bakeries ... but maybe I could buy almond flour from a bakery ... I am going to check this! Thanks, Lisa!!

PS: And I love marzipan, too :-)

Hey Jean, thanks! I checked the website and it's really good but unfortunately it doesn't offer almond flour :-(

I think the idea that almond flour can be used as a great alternative for gluten-free cooking and baking hasn't really reached Germany yet ;-)
Hey Elana, you really should start introducing your ideas and your cookbook to the German market!!

    Hey Marie-Sophie,

I actually happen to come from FFM and happened to face the same problem a while ago. The German market for low carb products could really stand some improvement =)I order my almond flour from buffbody.de, it's quite mild-tasting because it is deoiled, which makes it lighter in structure and quite perfect for bread and other baked goods. I like it a lot more than just grind almonds. Their coconut flour is great as well. If you decide to order there, you should keep in mind, however, that their sesame flour is truly horrible and has a weird, bitter aftertaste.
    Cheers!

Thank you so much for the info!
I actually did some research on the internet before ordering almond flour online and I didn't really like the idea of ordering almond flour which actually was a mere byproduct of producing almond oil ... meaning it contains less nutrients etc. Plus you still have to pay quite some money for that! But it really seems as if there isn't a lot of a choice for us here :-(

So if anyone finds great almond flour online in Germany, please let us know!

And Zottel, say hi to Frankfurt for me - I am actually from Mainz, on the other side of the river Rhine (which is about 45mins away by train, for everyone else) :-)
