I'm new to this website and forum. I am gluten, dairy, white potato, and sugar-free. I've never met any others who stay away from the same things as I do.

I have a question about blanched almond flour. Has anybody ever used Nutsforu brand? https://www.nuts4u.com/asp/s-products.asp?NType=57&Category=8

On the Honeyville page of Amazon.com was this comment about the Honeyville product: "I purchased this flour a few weeks ago and just baked with it the first time yesterday. I was very satisfied with the taste and texture of it. However, I cannot tolerate gluten or rice and after eating some of what I had baked, I had an allergic reaction. I called the company and they could not tell me anything in regards to their mills nor if there could be any cross-contamination. The lady on the phone seemed to think that the mills are shared equipment and that no precautions are taken to avoid cross-contamination. If you're buying it for low-carb prep only, it should be a good flour at a great deal. Please beware if you are using it to avoid gluten or other allergenic grains!"

I'm interested in others' experiences with different brands as I don't want to buy a 5 lb. bag and not be able to use it.

Rachel - while I can't offer you any words of advice re: the flour (living here in Australia) I can tell you there are others out there living the gluten, dairy, white potato and sugar-free dream! I'm the same, and am also vegetarian and allergic to weird stuff like yeast, citrus, vinegar, etc...

Most thinks without gluten AND dairy are so chock full of sugar I can't eat them either! :(

Wishing you well on the hunt for allergy free foods. It's always a joy when you find something you can eat!

Jen, thanks for responding and it's always nice to hear that I'm not alone. I didn't mention it in my first post, but I can't eat vinegar or yeast either. I'm okay with grapefruit though. I know what you mean about the gluten-free products being so high in sugar. I never buy any of them because they'd make me as sick as the gluten!

Rachel, someone from a different thread suggested hughesonnuts.com as a source of blanched almond flour. They only produce almond products in their plant, so there is virtually no possiblity of cross contamination during processing. I have yet to try it, so I cannot attest to the quality, but the website looks well-done and claims to be committed to quality:-} Good luck!
