Does anyone have a good non-dairy recipe that uses honey or agave nectar? I bought a torch on ebay a few years ago and never made creme brulee. Now we are dairy/sugar free.

This was the best I have been able to come up with.

I'm thinking as creme brulee needs sugar to "burn" on the top that no one has come up with an alternative. So I'm wondering if you could change the dairy to coconut milk (leaving out the spices and safron would always be optional) and change the sugar for the top to crystalized honey (see below) and if that might work? Just a guess and I'd try it myself if I was eating sweets.

Anyway, an option. I do know there are honey custard recipes out there, too, if you would be interested, that could be made dairy free with coconut milk.
