I'm wondering about the name brand that Elana uses (Madhava Organic Light Agave Nectar)- Does anyone know for sure if it contains corn in any way, it may be a dumb question but I need to make sure... Thank you so very much and May God Bless You.

I'm pretty certain it doesn't, as Elana doesn't eat corn. Though I'd always check directly with the manufacturer to be absolutely sure!

I have the Madhava Organic Light Agave Nectar. The lable says "Our organic Agave Nectar is made purely from the juice of the salmiana variety of agave. No additives or preservatives".

I'm still testing it in my body. Not looking good!

I called Madhava. I have been working with them for years. I love this company, they're awesome! Madhava's Agave, in my opinion, is the best agave on the market. I've tried them all. Their agave does not contain corn. It is 100% pure agave. Now, I don't know for sure about other brands, but let's think about this for a moment. The agave on the market comes from Mexico. Mexico produces sodas with sugar because they do not have high fructose corn syrup. People say that companies are diluting pure agave with HFCS to increase their profit margins. Well, it is certainly not happening in Mexico, because if they had to dilute the agave with corn syrup, they would have to import it from the U.S. and this would actually decrease their profit margins. And, I seriously doubt that the companies that have agave on the store shelves are diluting with corn syrup themselves. I feel that this is a negative marketing ploy produced by competing sweetener companies.

Katie, I think you are right about all that. It is an urban legend that corn syrup is being added. Probably started by another sweetener company like Monsanto, who kept stevia off the market as a sweetener for years, by their propaganda.

We are starting the SCD which doesn't allow Agave on the diet, only honey and saccharine. We are buying local raw honey, and hope that the whole family will tolerate it well. Our focus will remain on fruits, vegetables, and good quality meat, fish and chicken. These baked goods are treats, and not staples for us.

    you're exactly right, lisastafford.

i found the truth about AGAVE, finally. A great explanation. This rings true for me. Read the entire article at the below link.

Mike Adams (naturalnews.com) contacted the manufacturer, who wrote a loooong rebuttal, explaining the 2 different processes being used by 2 differenet manufacturers, the first of which is out of business and which is the one the negative report is based on, even thouugh the good guy was contacted. Not one word of his explanation was contained in the negative report. I will use agave in Elana's recipes.

it appears to me that agave is very successful and is probably competition for the toxins aspartame and Splenda (?), making this an attack by TPTW (The Powers That Were).

We used Honey exclusively for 4 months, but my husband is tolerating other sweeteners now. I will buy some Madhava agave now and try it in Elana's great recipes.
