    Hi,

I am new to thsi forum and am very eager to try the GFCF recipies. I notice that you use Celtic sea salt and grapeseed oil in most recipies. Are these healthier than regular salt and olive oil?

I use macadamia nut oil, because it is one of few oils that doesn't become bad for the body when heated. Or so i was told. I will try and get more on this, as I am not 100% sure of my info....As for celtic sea salt, I am pretty ignorant. Is this considered more healthy than Himalayan sea salt? I'm happy to switch, but so far the fine ground Himalayan seems to live up to it's press: "Ancient, beautiful, and mysterious, Himalayan salt is one of the most valued elements on Earth and hails from the valleys and rivers which lie deep within the Himalaya Mountain Range. It has been coveted for centuries due to its beauty, rich mineral content, and versatility." I'd love to hear others" thoughts....

I was using Himalayan, but have switched to Celtic when I saw this graph that shows the higher mineral content in the Celtic sea salt.

    23.10% Selina Naturally™ Hawaiian Salt
17.50% Celtic Sea Salt® Brand Sea Salt
13.40% Selina Naturally™ Portuguese Sea Salt
    4.12% Himalayan
    3.53% McCormick®
    3.07% Hain Pure Foods®
    1.68% Real Salt®

The link doesn't seem to work when I posted it, so I just copied the info here.
Or you can go to "View a mineral comparison chart here" on this page:
