Chia Seed
You may remember chia seeds from when they were popularized by the chia pet of the 1970’s. However, even though these pets are no longer in style, chia seeds are now back in vogue, this time in a culinary context.
Chia is the seed of an herb related to the mint family. Chia seeds are usually eaten whole –I use them this way in my Tapioca Pudding. If you’re looking for a more indulgent way to enjoy chia seeds, try these Vegan Nut Free Gluten Free Brownies.
