Hemp seeds
I love hemp seeds. They have a neutral flavor which makes them a fantastic dairy substitute –try them in dairy-free ice cream. This versatile little seed is both a culinary and nutritional powerhouse.
Hemp seeds are packed full of essential fatty acids and proteins–including a handful of important amino acids that the human body needs but cannot produce by itself. Instead of soy, which some people avoid due to its anti-nutrient quality and phytoestrogens, milk made from hemp seeds is a great alternative.
The oils in hemp seeds oxidize quickly–they are best stored in a glass jar in your freezer.
