Paleo Breakfast Bars

Posted on March 20, 2013

Paleo breakfast bars made with almond flour, coconut oil, shredded coconut, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and raisins.

This recipe for Paleo Breakfast Bars is an amended version of a recipe I posted in 2009. I have rewritten this recipe for several reasons.

First, although a number of people swore by it, others commented that the bars came out crumbly for them. Second, the original recipe was not Paleo as it contained grapeseed oil and agave (for more information on which foods are ... read more →

Chili Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Posted on October 19, 2011

Paleo pepitas will delight your little ghosts and goblins.

Looking for a delicious Halloween snack? Spicy pumpkin seeds tossed in chili powder, olive oil and a touch of salt are a healthy treat during this junk food filled time of year.

These heavily spiced seeds are also great for the change in seasons when everyone seems to be coming down with a cold or sore throat, as chili powder is full of both anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious agents, as well as antioxidants.

Breakfast Bars

Posted on June 16, 2009

Needless to say, I was quite miffed.  Especially since I have a couple of half gallon jars ... read more →

Granola

Posted on September 11, 2007

I love gluten free granola; sweet and crunchy, it always satisfies a good snack attack.

I also get a kick out of using the term “granola” to ridicule my Boulder brethren. However, when I’m feeling earthy, dousing myself in patchouli (which my husband dislikes to no end) I can easily apply the term to myself –even though I’m more of a yuppie than a hippie. I guess that would make me a yippie.

Alas, I digress. Several years ago when I ... read more →
