This Paleo Carrot Soup recipe with spicy ginger and rich coconut milk will warm you to the bone on a snowy day.
During the last year my husband and I were lucky enough to eat at the Post Ranch Inn in Northern California. We had an incredible meal which included a stunning salad as well as carrot ginger soup, and more. I spoke to our server to get an idea of what was in that amazing carrot soup so that I ... read more →

A piping hot bowl of this gluten free Broccoli Soup is the perfect dish for today. Why? We’re expecting a nice balmy high here in Boulder of 15 degrees, while we’re buried in snow from yesterday’s storm.
I was fortunate enough to spend yesterday, my Sunday, at a yoga class, and then hiking the gorgeous Mount Sanitas in the snow. As you can see, thus far, the new year is treating me well.

The heartbreaking aspect of these same emails? People express their feelings of loneliness and isolation. They ask if I can recommend a community where people share their dietary concerns. If ... read more →

When my husband takes the boys up to the mountains for a night or two, first I call Martha for a hike. Then, I go into soup mode.
For me, soup is all about simplicity –vegetables and protein in a one pot meal. I make soup for dinner and often end up eating it for breakfast and lunch the next day. My husband cringes when I tell him this; he has a strong dislike of leftovers, and has not yet discovered ... read more →

Simple and creamy vegan butternut squash soup to warm your belly.
This vegan recipe for butternut squash soup is great for a cold winter’s day. We’ve had a lot of those lately. I haven’t worn anything outside but snow boots in 2007.
We just had our 7th snow storm in seven weeks. I don’t mind, I was raised in California where we pretended that a heavy frost was “snow.” Here’s some good grub for staying warm.
