This cookbook is a lovely collection of healthy gluten free, dairy free recipes. We had a huge snowstorm here last night and I made my family a batch of this warming Mexican Hot Chocolate. A hot drink is perfect for a cold day, and it’s even better when warming spices such as cinnamon, chili and cayenne are added.

This dark green, luscious shake is my go to drink when I need a little protein pick me up.

I’m loving this gluten free, dairy free Strawberry Lime Shake made of fresh homemade coconut milk. My boys love it too. After I took a picture of the shake yesterday and placed it in the fridge, the boys grabbed it greedily and drank it all down. They have a certain penchant for consuming my photo shoots like that.

I hadn’t thought of making coconut milk from shredded coconut until I read Sarma Melngailis’ book Living Raw Food. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. Sarma has great recipes and tons of fabulous information for everyone –you don’t have to be raw to enjoy this book.

The idea for this green smoothie comes from the amazing Sarma of oneluckyduck.com. I recently purchased her book Living Raw Food and am loving it. While some of the recipes can be complex, she has many that can be made in minutes.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve been asked for a vegan eggnog recipe. This gluten free, dairy free (egg free) eggnog is not too challenging to make and full of filling rich yumminess.

Peaches are in high season here in Colorado and we are making the most of it. This week I made a gluten free (of course), fruit sweetened, dairy free, vegan Peach Almond Ice Cream.
To increase the peach factor, I diced up more fresh peaches and mooshed them into the ice cream after it came out of the ice cream maker.
